According to Google search data, Sarah Snook's character, Shiv Roy, has the most influential fashion in Succession with over 3,240 estimated monthly searches for her style. Shiv also has the most fashion-related searches out of any fictional businesswoman currently on TV.
Wearing funeral black - no spoiler intended! - in episode 3 of the final season (4), it was her gold padlock that stood out. Tom Ford has made the padlock one of his eponymous brand's signature details, usually found on his women's stilettos.

Knowing ChicGeek's are style magpies and take their inspiration from anywhere, we thought a small, simple gold padlock from the internet would make this an easy look to emulate and also add an evening touch to a double-breasted black suit. As the Roys would say, "lock it in".

Dries Van Noten is a master of pattern, colour and detail. He puts things together that shouldn’t work, but they do. Take for example, this striped shirt. The simple addition of the fuchsia pink floral on the placket and around the hem lifts this into fashion artistry.

I recently visited Dries Van Noten’s flagship store in Antwerp. The first Dries store I have ever been to. Opened in 1989, but built in 1881, it was formerly the 'Het Modepaleis' (the Fashion Palace) and is a listed landmark and historically home to a gentleman’s outfitters, a peer of Dries' grandfather. The wooden counters, tiled floors and wide curved windows - all of which are unique - helps the building retain it authenticity.
The lipstick red seats, dark wood floors and shelving made me instantly think ‘Paul Smith’. Dries Van Noten is Belgium’s Paul Smith, which seems so glaringly obvious I’m not sure how that didn’t cross my mind until now. The store is beautiful in its proportions and product. Men’s upstairs and small intimate rooms to explore and discover. It could get expensive in there.
It proves the importance of mono-brand retail, especially to designers with strong identities. It really helps you enter their world and understand it all in wonderful 360 degrees.

The Swiss oral health care brand Curaprox’s Hydrosonic Pro electric toothbrush contains three gentle power levels that can be changed with a touch of a button and can take your brush rotations from 44,000 to 84,000 per minute and will remove biofilm and discolouration whilst being gentle to your teeth and gums. Just to give you an idea of how incredible this toothbrush is, the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean 9000 only has vibrations pulse 31,000 times every minute.
It has a battery power life of more than 60 minutes which aims to last the user up to two weeks and will allow for four minutes of brushing daily.

TheChicGeek says “I like how this went straight in with confidence and said it was better than Philips Sonicare, which is the benchmark for electric toothbrushes. Is it better? It’s a tough call and that’s still a massive compliment to the Curaprox.
I really like the head shape on this, it seems to fit in the mouth really well. And the mini cleaning head is a nice touch. It also comes with a neat travel case. This feels like a quality product and a quality clean.
The head beeps after 30 seconds, to continue moving around the quadrants of the mouth, but doesn’t stop at 2mins, it keeps going until 4mins, so encourages more brushing.
It’s very Swiss in the fact it doesn’t stand out, or tries to. It just does what it is supposed to do and, yes, I really like it.
As for the toothpaste, these are the opposite of Swiss - colourful and fruity. I’ve never seen ‘Gin Tonic’ toothpaste before, or ‘Peach & Apricot’. The consistency is gel-like and they contains absolutely no SLS, no triclosan, and no microplastic. They don’t really foam up and they stay on the head. The flavours are different but not overpowering.
They contain fluoride, which is what you need, but it doesn’t make that clear on the tubes or boxes. If I saw these in a shop this would be the first thing I would look for, and with it not being clear I would take that as not containing fluoride and put them back."

Hoping to offering some clarity through the walls and walls of haircare products available out there, The Hair Consult was founded by Stephen Rowe, Photographer Cara Johnson and hairdresser and colourist Edward James. They say, the sheer volume of hair products available on the market mean that many people struggle to understand the best haircare regime for their lifestyle and hair needs. The Hair Consult offers a paid-for ‘Consult Concierge’ service with one of their in-house haircare experts and then sends a bespoke prescription recommending products featured on The Hair Consult website.
TheChicGeek says “I told them my hair was short and is thin and balding - nothing a trip to Istanbul wouldn’t sort out! - and conditioner makes my hair greasy.
This was The Hair Consult response:
Based on your hair being short, fine in texture and prone to being oily (especially if you use conditioner), we recommend using Aveda Scalp Solutions Shampoo, which gently cleanses and improves scalp health and hydration without leaving it oily, especially as you do not use a conditioner. For styling and added texture we recommend Shu Uemura's Nendo Definer Matte Clay, which provides hold without stickiness. The matt texture makes hair look fuller and is also idea for hair that is prone to oiliness.
My box of products arrived with the above products plus a small sample of Aveda face wash, Aveda hair thickening tonic and a small Shu Uemura candle.
This is a good concept. It’s not even about saving the money on products you won’t use or like - there is that too - it’s the time and frustration wasted trying to find something that works for. Anything that contains Aveda - they are the best shampoos IMO - starts on the right foot. These are quality products. Other brands on The Hair Consult website include Philip Kingsley, Oway and Kérastase. You do notice the difference even on the little I have left!"

Pope Francis looking fly in his white puffer coat went viral at the weekend. It turns out it is an AI fake. Who cares? He looked boss and has given a injection to late winter white. While not that practical - isn't cleanliness next to godliness? - there's always the washing machine. The crucifix is optional!

Calecim Professional is a stem cell skin and haircare specialist developed by scientists to rapidly increase the growth of skin cells, dramatically improving elastin and density. The hero ingredient, PTT-6, is ethically derived from the growth factors, protein and cytokines of red deer’s umbilical cord lining stem cells. They have the patent on using stem cells taken from umbilical cords for beauty products.
TheChicGeek says, “I was given a box of the range to try and opted for the pink serum - it’s pink because it contains phenolsulfonphthalein (a pH indicator) which is reddish/dark pink - said to have the highest concentration of stem cell derived growth factors and proteins, and the Multi-Action Cream, which I thought I’d use as a standard moisturiser over the serum. I stopped using any other products.
Most of Calecim’s products are aimed at ‘recovery’ post-procedure, so I thought they would have some oomph. The smell isn’t unpleasant, it’s just you wouldn’t want it any stronger.
I used both products for 3 weeks, applying liberally in the morning after getting out of the shower. I didn’t notice any visible differences.
I had really high hopes for this range, and, with the science behind it, I was sold. I wanted this is to do something. It spoke of ‘reverse ageing’ rather than simply anti-ageing, so, for the money, any money, this is a thumbs down.”

I've been looking for new trainers recently. While there's a lot out there, many are very bulky, heavy and ugly. Don't even get me started on the rubber boot trend.
These from Loewe - it's always Loewe atm - were the nicest I saw. Made in Italy and decent quality, they are a classic design with the added General Electric swirl of the Loewe logo. While they have that 70s thing going on, the colouration and suede reminds me of the 90s. It's very my early-days-at-Wallpaper*-magazine eating whatever the cook had made that day and wearing Camper Pelotas. Good times.
