Based in London, Delos is a luxurious travel focussed label. The collection of menswear and womenswear, born in the Mediterranean, is designed for the constant traveller.
Left - Delos - Rambert Bow Tie Silk Shirt - £475
Founded by Artem del Castillo, it is named after the mythological Greek island of Delos (Δήλος), said to be the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis. Meaning 'clear' or 'brought to light' Delos explores a spectral palette with fluid and non-constrictive silhouettes.
For Spring Summer 2023, the collection looks at the art of Shibori, the Japanese technique of dyeing fabric to produce different colour spectrums - think ombré bleeds on silk.
Del Castillo says, “I created Delos in appreciation of artisanal craftmanship and how it could translate in the modern world and it has been wonderful to design this collection. To further explore Shibori has been a joy and the fine silk pieces build upon our first collection. I’ve enjoyed opening the Delos point of view adding more evening and event styles, exploring our landscape further underscored by our London atelier’s respect for craft and tradition.”
TheChicGeek says, "Throwaway those trackies, now, this is luxurious comfortwear. Today, people want to dress for the evening with the minimal amount of effort and also like they aren't wearing anything. Delos seems to tick all the boxes. *books one way ticket to Mykonos*"

Lose the ego, or meaning ‘ego loss’, Perte D’ego is a new Indian brand using the best skills of Indian craftsman and creating pieces rather than collections. The website is a scroll of colourful and often embroidered men’s and women’s items, some matching, some not.
Cameron from White Lotus was wearing a Perte D’ego pattern shirt in the latest series.
Left - Saw this amazing dandelion jacket by Perte D'ego on Instagram, but can't see it on the website
Founded by designer Utkarsh Mithas, it has two core principles, create one of a kind, 'Euphoria' inducing pieces in a sustainable and ethical manner and preserve traditional techniques and craftsmanship and promote them globally to provide them a secure future.
You’ll already know how much I love Indian embroidery through the Harago brand.
Perte D’ego believes what makes a product a true luxury, is the combination of the resources and hard work that goes into making each piece by hand and ensuring that those "hands" can feed their families and live a healthy and happy life.
Instead of outsourcing manufacturing to far off factories where it doesn’t have control over the working environment of the artisans and craftspeople, it has established its own studio where artisans are hired on permanent contracts and paid fair wages which are significantly above the stipulated minimum wage. They are provided a healthy and positive working environment where focus is put on quality over quantity. They also work with small artisan studios within our area to support and promote them. Products are made in small batches to reduce waste.

At the recent Welcome Edition trade show in East London, previewing the new SS23 men’s collections, I stumbled across the Belgian brand, Castart. Based in the fashion capital of Antwerp, Castart is a colourful and eclectic brand perfect for the chicest of geeks.
Launched in 2018, the name ‘Castart’ is French for ‘cheeky man’, because the cheeky man doesn’t tell the stories to others, he writes the stories himself, says the brand.
Castart’s materials are sourced from ethically responsible suppliers around the world. They work closely with manufacturers to constantly develop new, environmentally friendly production techniques. Despite their global outlook, they remain focused on crafting garments suited to individual tastes which give their clothing its timeless and distinguished charm.
TheChicGeek says, “For SS23, I want a pair of their striking Yves Klein blue combat trousers. A standout. Prices are around the £100 mark, and it has made me want to visit their home store in Antwerp.”

Inspired by the unspoilt Lérins Islands, located off the coast of the French Riviera, British brand Lerins is a new conscious trainer brand.
Founded in 2021, designed in London, and made in Portugal with materials sourced in Europe, Lerins puts a directional and sustainable twist on the retro-inspired court trainer. Combining optimal comfort with trend-led style credentials, Lerins is introduced with 10 options and in a palette of in-style shades including muted camel and vibrant green.
Shoes are very much in founder, Daniel Rubin’s blood. The fourth generation of his family to be involved in manufacturing footwear, Daniel owned a factory in London for over a decade creating women’s fashion shoes, whilst designing, importing, and wholesaling fashion footwear for over twenty years. In 1992, Daniel founded footwear brand and retailer, Dune.
Lerins’ leather is produced to a gold standard in certified ‘Leather Working Group’ tanneries where the provenance of the raw material is known and approved, and the use of water and chemicals tightly controlled.
Vegan leather is supplied by Lerins’ Italian partner, Vegea. Made from the grape skins left over from wine making, it is combined with vegetal oils and natural fibres to make a durable and leather-like product. There is also a leather and canvas option with the canvas crafted from recycled sea plastic. Laces are made of organic cotton and soles from recycled and virgin rubber.
All packaging is recyclable, compostable or biodegradable and wherever possible, Lerins uses energy efficient processes in its logistics and operations.
Lerins doesn’t suggest it is fully sustainable - it is busy working on that - however, it is committed to making every effort to become as sustainable as possible. From the outset Lerins will be transparent in what it can achieve and what continues to be a work in progress.
Lerins is also a corporate partner of the World Land Trust charity, supporting international reforestation initiatives.
TheChicGeek says, "The sustainable trainer/sneaker market is getting more crowded, but it is the correct direction to take. Thanks to its bolder colour choices - I just hope they make that green in larger sizes - Lerins stands out, and with Daniel's experience in making shoes, they should offer the quality and value expected at this price point."

Simon Jacobs, MrQuintessential’s founder, explains, “Fashion is at its best when the pieces are stunningly exclusive yet completely inclusive and that’s what we have achieved with this collection. It looks great, it’s really wearable and not at a ridiculous price point.
“We have really considered this collection as creating solutions for our client’s wardrobe that they will want to wear over and over again. These are timeless pieces with a modern twist which is what we are starting to be known for.

“In my late 30s, I realised that nothing I owned fit my age. I was too old to wear the street clothes with large logos that I’d worn before, but I didn’t want to wear the standard, lifeless clothing available for middle-aged men. Instead, I wanted to show that life is only just beginning – being 40 is just like being 20, only you are a little older and a little wiser.
“Finding clothing that matched my attitude and approach to life was a difficult task. So, in 2016, I decided to start my company, MrQuintessesntial, with the aim that no other man needed to face the same dilemma I did. I wanted to provide comfortable and stylish men’s cashmere sweaters in different styles and designs, but I didn’t want to put a luxury price tag on them. So that’s what I did.
“This collection is the epitome of that timeless style. Pieces that you will love to wear but that wont wear you.”
Mr Quintessential is a men’s cashmere specialist marrying purposeful design, ethically sourced and sustainable luxury and handcrafted finishing touches to create pieces to wear for years to come. Each piece is crafted in a blend of the finest sustainably sourced Mongolian cashmere and fine Merino wool, to create a comfortable fit that is breathable and soft.

They produce some of the finest and best value for money cashmere and knitwear in the world. MrQuintessential offers plenty of styles and colours, with a few subtle design touches, to update this timeless mesnwear staple."

The US 'essentials' brand, Bombas, has launched in the UK. Bombas was founded in 2013 on the discovery that in the US socks are the number one most requested item at homeless shelters. Co-founders, David Heath and Randy Goldberg wanted to help alleviate this basic need, so spent two and a half years researching and developing a technically-superior sock that would provide comfort and durability for all its wearers.
